Wider application range for GC and GCMS

The PTV-Injektor Optic 3 is a versatile tool for the GC and GCMS product range from Shimadzu. The Optic 3 injector can be used in split/splitless, on-column/Atcolumn mode as well as for DMI (Difficult Matrix Introduction) and Large Volume Injection. The Optic 3 shows no discrimination and a low thermical sample degradation.

The newly designed software makes operating the Optic 3 easy.

Improved detection limits
By cooling the injector also compounds that normally degrade in a hot injector e.g. thermally labile pesticides can be analyzed without difficulties. Even for low boiling point compounds precise and reproducible results can be obtained. The temperature range of the Optic 3 is between +10°C above RT to 600°C (optionally between -150°C and 600°C by cooling with liquid nitrogen or CO2). Large Volume Injection gives better detection limits and can be used in all application areas where sensitivity is crucial e.g. in environmental or food analysis.

Wider Application range
Additionally the Optic 3 can be used for Thermodesorption. In combination with the autosampler AOC-5000 the sample introduction can be fully automated.
The Optic 3 is ideal for samples which contain active and/or high boiling point compounds. Otpinal µ-vials can be introduced into the injector liner and allow anaylsis of compounds directly form solid or high matrix loaded samples (DMI, Difficult Matrix Introduction).
For the different injection techniques and for especially difficult samples a wide range of easy to change glass liners is available. So the user can choose the best combination of injection technique and liner for his application.
